Objective

To visualize the performance of an omni directional speaker.

Test Procedure

  1. The omni directional speaker was fed with a white noise signal.
  2. Three patch measurements with a 56-microphone array were used to capture acoustic pressure data close to the speaker surface.
  3. Data was captured for 6 seconds.
  4. Acoustic pressure, normal acoustic intensity and surface velocity were reconstructed on the speaker surface.

Results

The following two screenshots show the reconstructed sound pressure level distribution and acoustic intensity distribution respectively at 220 Hz on the speaker surface, clearly showing the position of the speakers and the differences in their output.
