Objective

To identify amplitude and frequency modulation issues in a seat adjuster in the presence of background noise.

Test Procedure

1. The seat adjuster was mounted on a test rig.
2. 4 SenQC probes were mounted at appropriate locations.
3. Noise signals were captured during the seat adjuster operation.
4. The measured signals were De-Noised to filter out background noise.

Results

The following screenshot shows the benchmark noise signature from the seat adjuster when measured in an anechoic chamber, with every low background noise.

This spectrogram clearly shows amplitude and frequency modulation.

The screenshot below shows the noise signal as measured by the microphones, with the background noise.

The spectrogram below shows the De-Noised signal. Most of the background noise was suppressed.

The De-Noised signal clearly shows the amplitude and frequency modulation issues.
