Wayne State spinoff to announce new vibration analysis technology

SenSound L.L.C., a startup technology company spun out of Wayne State University research, will announce a breakthrough in vibration analysis Oct. 26 at the Automotive Testing Expo 2005 in Novi. SenSound says the new tools respond to the automotive industry's need to be more proactive in addressing noise attenuation and do so in a timelier manner to expedite product development cycles. These tools also help non-automotive suppliers re-engineer their products to meet new stricter EU directives and noise regulations for a variety of product categories, or make consumer products quieter to increase customer satisfaction, or make machinery quieter to meet OSHA noise limits. SenSound was spun out of Wayne's Acoustics, Vibration, and Noise Control Laboratory. SenSound's software, integrated systems and services provide easy to implement, accurate, and high-resolution diagnosis of vibro-acoustic sources and sound transmission paths. They are expressed as three-dimensional maps on a screen. More at www.sensound.com.
