Sergio Mazza, President and CEO

Mr. Mazza has served as President and CEO of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) from 1993 to 1999. Prior to that he had an extensive career in the Information technology Industry which included the position of President of Memorex USA, a $300 million mainframe peripherals sales and service organization, and later Memorex Computer Supplies, a $200 million autonomous division of Memorex Telex that manufactured and sold magnetic media and other supplies around the world. Mr. Mazza went on to co-found and be the managing partner of the Italian software development and distribution company ATD Srl. Mr. Mazza received a BS Degree in Economics (Multinational Enterprises and Finance) from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Gary Kendra, General Counsel

Gary A. Kendra is a private attorney practicing in the areas of corporate and technology law. He assists start-up and established biotech, software, ecommerce and technology related companies in business organization, technology transfer and licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and commercialization of intellectual property. He most recently served as Executive Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Genomic Solutions Inc, including participation in the Company's initial public offering on the NASDAQ exchange. Prior to that, he spent 15 years in private practice specializing in corporate and real estate law, intellectual property transactions and mergers and acquisitions. Mr. Kendra has written and lectured extensively on the law and technology, including co-authoring two books for the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. He is a graduate of Michigan State University and the Wayne State University Law School where he earned both a law degree and Masters of Law in Taxation.

Dr. Sean F. Wu

Sean F. Wu received his BSME in 1982 from Zhejiang University, China; MSME in 1984 and Ph.D. in 1987, both from Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Wu joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Wayne State University (WSU) in 1988, and was promoted to associate professor in 1995 and professor in 1999. He was elected a Fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in 2001 and a Fellow of the Acoustical Society of America (ASA) in 2002, and Charles DeVlig Professor of Mechanical Engineering at WSU in 2002. He is a member of the Society for Automotive Engineering (SAE) and the Institute of Noise Control Engineering (INCE). Dr. Wu has served in the Executive Committee as the Treasurer, Vice Chairman, and Chairman of the ASME Noise Control and Acoustics Division (NCAD) from 1998 to 2001, the Program Chair for the NCAD at the 1999 ASME International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition, and the Chairman of the ASME Per Bruel Gold Medal Nominating Committee from 2001 to 2002. Currently, he is the Newsletter Editor of the ASME NCAD, associate editor for the Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, editor for the Journal of Computational Acoustics, and the President of the Zhejiang University Alumni Association in Greater Detroit. Dr. Wu's primary areas of interest are in acoustics, vibration, and noise control. He is credited for developing now widely recognized HELS (Helmholtz equation least squares) method for visualizing acoustic radiation from an arbitrarily vibrating structure, and an alternate integral formulation for predicting acoustic radiation from arbitrary objects. Dr. Wu holds five U.S. Patents (three issued: No. 5712805, No. 5886264, No. 6,615,143, and two pending). His major awards and honors include: 1) Excellence in Teaching Award from the College of Engineering in 2003; 2) 1998/99 Wayne State University Career Development Chair Award; 3) Certificates of Recognition for Mentoring an Undergraduate Recipient of a Competitive Award in the 1997/98 and 1998/99 Academic Years from Wayne State University; 4) 1997 Teetor Education Award from the Society of Automotive Engineering; and 5) 1987 Outstanding Ph.D. Thesis Presentation Award from Georgia Institute of Technology. Dr. Wu has published one book chapter, edited six books/proceedings, 38 refereed journal articles, and many refereed conference papers and technical reports. Over the past ten years, Dr. Wu has produced ten students winning 17 Best Student Papers/Posters Competition Awards at the national and international conferences sponsored by the ASA, ASME, SAE, and INCE.
